Spring Stamp Class: Wedding Card with Bow Tie

Do you still have the cards and notes you received at your wedding?  I’m not sure I do.  I celebrated my 13th wedding anniversary yesterday in fact!  I’m pretty sure all that stuff is in my basement somewhere in a box but I haven’t gone through those boxes since we moved here 10 years ago.

Weddings are another occasion where it’s easy to forget a card until you are on the way to the party.  Here’s what we made in class last month:

I used the envelope punch board to make the bow tie!  Super easy and it looks great!  Here’s  a video tutorial

Spring Stamp Class: baby

Does it seem like babies are born in waves to you?  In my circle of friends and family, it seems like there will be a dry spell for a long time and then all of the sudden there are like 5 people pregnant all at the same time!  It’s great to have baby cards on hand because it’s usually one of the cards that you forget about until you have to be at a baby shower in 20 minutes.

Here’s my baby card for this year (I love it!!!  It’s one of my all time fave’s!):

Spring Card Class: Graduation

Every year I try to come up with a collection of “event” cards for holidays and gatherings in spring and summer.  It’s usually my most popular class.

Here’s my graduation card for this year:

I used the circle framelit “flip” die which gives the card a little action and can stand up for display.  My class members were able to customize their grad cards to be the school colors of the recipients they intended them for.  I had Columbine, Dakota Ridge, Chatfield, and Standley Lake all represented.

Lots of projects coming your way!! MDS photo book page for Kindergarten album

My kids have been out of school now for about 10 days and I am finally catching my breath.  I have lots of projects to tell you about that I’ve been working on the past couple of months so hopefully I can get some blog posts written over the next week or so to try and catch up a little.

Our Kindergarten class decided to put together a little photo book for the teacher and aide as an end of the year thank you.

Each student submitted a few photos and we asked them what their favorite thing about Kindergarten was.  Here’s my daughter’s page:

I used the “See Ya Next Year” digital download for the pages and just changed the photo boxes and text boxes as needed.

I think it turned out great!  The more I use MDS for projects the more I love it.  This photo book came together so easily and the template was perfect for anything school related.  Lots of grid paper, notebook paper, numbers, letters, etc.

Guest Stamper, Luv2Stamp Group, Project #4

Ready for another?!!

I did get some time the other day to put a few cards together with my new stuff!  Sorry for the bad focus on the picture below.  We’ve had snow and FREEZING temps here (negative 13 degrees this morning!), and normally I photograph my cards outside on my front porch, so the was a little tricky to do inside.

My niece is having her first baby in a couple months, and is kind of an aquarium nut so I was playing around with the High Tide Designer Series paper to see if I could find a combination that worked for a baby card.  I originally was going to use the back side of the gray anchor pattern which is big whales, but it felt a little too busy with the stripes.  I like how it turned out!

Guest Stamper Luv2Stamp Group, Project #3

So January was a busy month and over in a flash.  I can’t seem to get caught up with even the basics.  My kitchen has been drowning in dirty dishes and the kids are calling out each morning, “I don’t have any clean pants!”.  I’m can’t put my finger on anything specific but having a 3 year old at home plus three other kids in school and activities is all the explanation I can come up with.

So after quite a delay, here is project number three from my guest stamper series--

My next project features a product bundle that includes the Starburst Sayings stamp set, and the Starburst framelits.  I am always a sucker for any products where there are stamp sets and matching dies/framelits that go together.

Guest Stamper—Luv2Stamp Group, Project #1

I’m excited to be a guest stamper for my upline, Patty Bennett’s Luv2Stamp Group for January!  I will be sharing several samples featuring products from the new Spring/Occasions Catalog from Stampin’ Up! this month.

Some of my friends like to craft, but don’t want to “collect” craft supplies, but by having a few basics on hand, you can do a lot of fun things without taking up too much space.  The tag topper punches are great for this.  You can dress up a gift bag, present, card, or plate of treats super easily with these cute punches.  There are two varieties available in the Occasions Catalog: the scalloped tag topper punch, item #133324, and the angled tag topper punch, item #133323, p. 35.

As the kids would say, “totes cute!”

The paper you use in the punches needs to be cut in 2 inch strips, then you can punch the top and trim the length to be however long you’d like.

Here’s my sample:
